Stress is a part of human life that no one can avoid. Stress is also a normal reaction to situations that we all face on a daily basis. However, if not managed or addressed it may lead to damaging effects. According to Health Canada, being over-stressed can change sleep patterns, make it difficult to concentrate or make decisions, cause headaches and restlessness and can be a risk factor for heart disease and mental illness.
YusApuY and York University recognize that being over-stressed, depression and anxiety are some of the most common issues faced by YusApuY members in the workplace and that resources are key to coping with stress.
The YusApuY/York University Joint Training Committee is proud to announce our newest initiative – – Work Smart, Live Smart – – a four part interactive series that focuses on personal wellness and building resiliency.
The Work Smart, Live Smart series will be facilitated by Beverly Beuermann-King, a published resiliency and wellness speaker and strategist. Participants will receive a copy of Beverly’s ebook “Stress Out” and will have the opportunity to engage with Beverly should they choose to do so. The sessions will be held as follows:
