PURPOSE:
As per Article IV Section 2f) in the Constitution; the Glendon Officer shall be a member of YusApuY working at the Glendon campus and shall be elected by members working at the Glendon Campus. The Glendon Officer shall represent the interests of those members in Union matters.
DESIGNATION:
The Glendon Officer is an elected position for two calendar years (January to December) and is a volunteer position. The Glendon Officer is an Officer of the union and shall also be designated a Union Steward (if not already a Steward).
CONFIDENTIALITY:
The Glendon Officer must sign a Confidentiality Agreement as s/he is privy to confidential information and discussions.
ROLE:
The Glendon Officer is responsible for relaying information from the YusApuY office to the Glendon YusApuY members, and from the Glendon YusApuY members to the YusApuY office. The Glendon Officer will also assist with organizing special functions at the Glendon campus for YusApuY events in conjunction with the YusApuY office, as well as events at the Keele campus.
YusApuY EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETINGS:
The Glendon Officer is a voting member of the YusApuY Executive Board for for the duration of their two-year term beginning in January of their first year and ending in December in the fial year. The Glendon Officer is therefore responsible for attending all Executive Board Meetings. The schedule (frequency, day and time) for Executive Board meetings for the year is determined by the Executive Board at the two-day planning retreat held at the beginning of the year. Typically Executive Board Meetings happen in the evenings, outside of regular work hours and is therefore volunteer time.
