Happy New Year, everyone.

This is just a quick note welcoming everyone back from the break. Hopefully you had an opportunity to enjoy time with your friends and family and were also able to take some time for yourselves.

2018 promises to be a rather busy time for YusApuY. Not only will we be continuing to negotiate the Unit 2 Collective Agreement but we will be negotiating the Unit 1 Collective Agreement as well. There are also new initiatives planned that we will be detailing in future announcements.

In 2017, we began a number of initiatives that we will be continuing and expanding upon. For example, last year weekly drop-in office sessions at the Keele Campus were introduced. Those drop-in sessions will be continuing this year with the first one scheduled for this Wednesday. (A reminder will be sent out on Wednesday morning.)

This year we will be expanding the drop-in office sessions to the Glendon Campus. We will be at the Glendon Campus once a month with the first one scheduled for tomorrow (January 9th). Last year we were at the Glendon Campus once every two months to mainly discuss Job Evaluation issues, this year we will be at Glendon to discuss whatever issues the members at Glendon would like to discuss. This will continue the goal of the 2017 full time officers to be as accessible to the membership as possible.

Communication is a two-way street and being accessible is the beginning of the communication process.
