The York University Staff Association and York University have been working over several years on the complicated task of negotiating and finalizing a Pay Equity Agreement for Unit 2. The parties are pleased to have reached agreement on the terms of the Plan on August 19, 2013. The goal of the Plan is to measure work objectively, in a gender neutral way, on the basis of skill, effort, responsibility and working conditions and to set wages accordingly. In the next several weeks, more announcements will follow about the Plan’s implementation and its effects on former and current Unit 2 members.
