Mat Pilates with Robbie
Tuesdays from 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm and 1:15 pm to 1:45 pm
Did you know that Pilates was originally developed for rehab, not just abs? Me either! I used to have it in my repertoire to build the brain to body connection as a theatre and circus performer, but it was my time using my Pilates certification as a physiotherapist’s assistant that really sold me on freedom of movement being all about where your body moves most efficiently. In my classes I’ll talk about bones and joints more than muscles and burn, but trust me you’ll still feel it. I’m currently a psychology student at York, and I like to pepper elements of mindfulness and focus work using the breath as well. My hope is you’ll leave our classes together feeling a full foot taller, a lighter mind on a healthier spine.
