Expiration of YUSA Unit 1 Collective Agreement
The YUSA Unit 1 collective agreement expired on July 31st so you may be wondering how that affects you. Even though the contract has expired, it remains in effect as long as the parties do not have a strike or lockout. So right now, all of the provisions of the collective agreement remain in full effect and salary, benefits, and all other entitlements remain the same.
It’s very common for the collective agreement to expire before a new collective agreement is negotiated and right now both YUSA and YUFA’s collective agreements have expired, yet they remain in full effect as we work through the bargaining process.
