YUSA Offering Lunchtime Mindfulness Meditation Sessions

YusApuY and YUGSA have collaborated to provide Lunchtime Mindfulness Meditation sessions, free of charge to our members. The first day of sessions will begin on Wednesday, February 22 and will be offered on a drop-in basis three days per week. To ensure there is enough space, we ask that you contact YUSA’s Fitness and Events Coordinator, Kerrianne Brown at kerribr@yorku.ca, to let us know you plan to attend.

YUSA Job Evaluation Info Sessions


Due to overwhelming interest from the membership, it has been decided that regular Job Evaluation information sessions will be held throughout 2017. The Keele campus will have monthly sessions and the Glendon Campus will have bi-monthly sessions. The sessions will be held over the lunch hours (12-1 and 1-2) in the Keele and Glendon Senate Chambers.

CCU Documentary – The Voice of Independent Unions in Canada

The 47-minute documentary, called The Voice for Independent Unions in Canada, illustrates the CCU’s dedication to the establishment of a democratic, independent labour movement, its newfound working relationship with the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), and its commitment to growth and renewal.

The documentary also focuses on the struggles of labour activists inside the CCU, its proud history, its work with social justice activists in Canada and around the globe, and the new economic challenges of wage stagnation and growing inequality.

The documentary has been selected to play at the Canadian Labour International Film Festival (CLIFF) in Toronto on Saturday, November 15.

The documentary will be submitted to over 50 film and documentary festivals in Canada and around the world in 2014 and 2015, including the Sundance Film Festival and the Toronto Hot Docs Festival.
